The Books
have been packed and stored in a storage unit for years. When the storage fees stopped, the manager didn't need that particular storage. When the storage unit was needed by a paying customer, he was going to send the books to the local landfill.
In a humid environment, nothing stores very well. Fabric rots, metals rust, books disintegrate.
In the desert...
The books picked up a bit of dust.

Books everywhere
The boxes of rescued books--
Were once part of my favorite used book store. Its been closed almost 10 years.
Out of Print. And still never been read. Unfortunately, my photography doesn't do them full justice. I'm sure practice will create better digital images.
A great find! Or is it? A book that has no page numbers. Another that may have been published as a paperback or hardcopy or never published at all. And then there's the book with neatly penciled comments and questions--that resemble editor's marks.
One author, three titles-over 300 brand new, in the boxes that the printer shipped them in. Two of the titles are first editions. One title is actually a 2nd edition that no one is aware even exists--except me. Do I have all the 2nd editions? Quite possible.
